The fantasy baseball season is heating up. Spring training is in full swing. It is time to review FBAN’s 2026 Fab Five catchers to draft. The fantasy manager’s choices seem simple. Swing for the fences in the early rounds by grabbing the Mariners Cal Raleigh or Colorado’s Hunter Goodman. Or wait a few rounds and draft a  “good” backstop with decent numbers to support your team.

The Top 2026 Fab Five Catchers

Cal Raleigh – C, Seattle Mariners

Ultimately, the numero uno of the 2026 Fab Five catchers is Home Run Champ Cal Raleigh of the Mariners. But buyer beware.  The reality is 60 HRs and 125 rbi’s may be difficult to duplicate for any player. Even with this high potential for regression in 2026, Raleigh ranks as the top catcher. And catcher is such a thin position that he’s still a borderline first-rounder. This draft decision will be a big test for fantasy managers.  Draft Raleigh if he falls to you, or wait for a little less fabulous catcher.

Hunter Goodman – C, Colorado Rockies

Hunter Goodman was a surprising breakout player in 2025 for the Rockies. The catcher boosted his batting average by hitting .307 at Coors Field. But only batting .243 on the road. Surprisingly, he hit 18 of his 31 home runs away from his home field.  Goodman managed to reduce his strikeout rate to 26.3 percent and drew more walks.  There is a big drop-off after Cal Raleigh. Goodman’s realistic draft expectation for comparable catchers would be in the 6th-round pick for 10-team leagues.

2026 Fab Five Sophomore Catchers

Agustin Ramirez – C, Miami Marlins

The third backstop in FBAN’s 2026 Fab Five catchers is the Marlins’ Agustin Ramirez. The catcher made a notable debut in 2025. This results from accumulating a total of 12 extra-base hits in his first 15 games. He finished the season with 55 total extra-base hits and tied the franchise record for a catcher. As a result of leading all catchers with 16 stolen bases last season, the rookie surprised many with his base-running abilities. Ramirez’s ability to make contact gives him a good shot at another top-10 catcher season in 2026. Easily a must-add catcher to your draft board.

Drake Baldwin – C, Atlanta Braves

Drake Baldwin made Atlanta’s Opening Day roster in 2025. The rookie backstop finished the season with a .274 average, 19 home runs, and 80 RBIs in 446 plate appearances. Which ultimately earned him the NL Rookie of the Year award.  Baldwin is a rare combination of contact and raw power. He should open the season as Atlanta’s No. 1 catcher, making him one of the position’s top draft picks.

Carter Jenson – C, Kansas City Royals

Carter Jensen of the Royals has an unusually sound combination of plate discipline and pop. He received a September call-up and hit three homers with a .941 OPS in his 20 games. Jensen has one of the highest ceilings among all young catchers. And the DH share with fellow catcher Salvador Perez will boost his draft appeal in the runs/RBI categories. He could be a top-10 fantasy catcher right from the start.
