Welcome to the Week 3 IDP Waiver Wire. Here, we highlight the players you should prioritize as we head into Week 3. We will be targeting players who are seeing excellent usage and whose role in their defensive scheme would indicate an increase in fantasy production as the season progresses. This column is written by aaron St. Denis, FSAN’s IDP Expert and perennial Top 5 ranker in the Fantasy Pros Accuracy Competition. Aaron was ranked 32nd overall in 2023 and 3rd overall in 2024. Rostership numbers will be from Sleeper Fantasy IDP leagues.

Week 3 IDP Waiver Wire Targets- Defensive Linemen

Carl Granderson, Saints (15% Rostered) | $3-5

For the second consecutive week, the Saints’ defense has spent ample time on the field. For the second consecutive week, Granderson has been a beast for IDP managers. In addition to 7 tackles, he chipped in 2 sacks and 1 pass defended. This is his first multi-sack performance since Week 3 of 2024, but the veteran Granderson appears to be coming alive for fantasy leagues. Have faith in this longtime IDP producer.

Calais Campbell, Cardinals (0% Rostered) | $1-2

We will go back to the veteran lineman list, one more time, and pick up Campbell. He was nursing an injury in Week 1, but was healthy in Week 2 and was productive. Campbell has recorded 5 tackles in both appearances this season and added 2 sacks in Week 2 against Bryce Young and the Panthers. If he stays healthy, he will be a consistent producer for IDP managers all season long.

Milton Williams, Patriots (2% Rostered) | $1-2

Another veteran lineman on the list with Milton Williams. In Week 2, he totalled 3 tackles and 2 sacks against Tua Tagovailoa and the Dolphins. Williams is only a mediocre tackle producer, but he has a knack for getting to the quarterback and should be a worthwhile add for deeper IDP leagues. Next week, he faces Aaron Rodgers and the Steelers and could struggle to get to Rodgers, who gets the ball out quickly. So, consider him a long-term stash for future weeks.

Week 3 IDP Waiver Wire Targets- Defensive Backs

Dru Phillips, Giants (2% Rostered) $2-4

After a poor Week 1 performance that saw him record only 4 tackles against the Washington Commanders, Phillips exploded for 11 tackles in Week 2 against the Dallas Cowboys. He has been struggling with an undisclosed injury since the preseason, but appears to be healthy and ready to go. After a successful rookie season, the sophomore now looks to be the Giants’ starting cornerback and is a player worth monitoring in all IDP formats.

Paulson Adebo, Giants (17% Rostered) $1-2

After spending his entire career with the Saints, Adebo has moved on to the Giants and has been productive through two starts. In Week 1, he recorded a solid 7 tackles, but in Week 2, he was dominant against the 49ers with a whopping 13 tackles. Look for Adebo to be a consistent producer in IDP leagues, given the amount of time the Giants’ defense will spend on the field.

Dax Hill, Bengals (3% Rostered) $1-2

Hill has been productive in both games this season for Cincinnati. He totalled 9 tackles in Week 1 and 8 tackles in Week 2. He has put up at least 14 fantasy points in both weeks with standard IDP scoring. Early reports indicate that Joe Burrow is going to miss three months with a toe injury that requires surgery. If this is the case, it’s catastrophic for the Cincinnati offense, and they will struggle to score. As a result, the weak Bengals defense could be in store for a lot of action this year. Look for Hill to see tons of chances to produce.

Week 3 IDP Waiver Wire Targets- Linebackers

Quay Walker, Packers (30% Rostered) $10-12

The Packers played mostly nickel in Week 2, with 86% of snaps spent lined up that way. Walker continues to wear the green dot and operate as a three-down linebacker. He got pressure on the quarterback on 33% of his pash rushes. This Green Bay defense is becoming impossible to play against, and the addition of Micah Parsons is giving Walker additional room to wreak havoc. He should not be available on any waiver wire in any IDP format. Add him now if he is on yours.

Frankie Luvu, Commanders (25% Rostered) | $4-6

Luvu was on the field for 100% of Washington’s defensive snaps on Thursday Night Football and is also a three-down linebacker who is wearing the green dot. Luvu’s usage makes him far less appealing than Walker, as he was lined up on the edge for only 33% of snaps. This leaves him as a far less consistent tackle producer and gives him a lower floor for fantasy managers. As of now, Luvu cannot be trusted as a starter, even with his role as the green dot linebacker and a three-down player. Regardless, he should be rostered in all IDP formats in case he hits his ceiling.

Devin Bush, Browns (2% Rostered) | $3-5

Bush tallied 7 tackles, with 4 of them being solos in Week 2, and continued to look impressive. He started this week and played on 75% of Brown’s defensive snaps. Bush also chipped in, one sack and one pass defended, and is rounding into form as a solid IDP-flex option. He isn’t the linchpin of the Cleveland defense, but he is becoming an integral part that is worth adding in IDP formats.
