Fantasy football is all about value, and few opportunities are better than a good resurgence. These players weren’t busts in 2024; they were derailed by injuries, poor situations, or plain bad luck. Now, they’re healthy, overlooked, and coming at a steep discount. Don’t let recency bias blind you these are the comeback stars who could swing your 2025 season.
Biggest Fantasy Comebacks of 2025
Dak Prescott Fantasy Revival
Dak Prescott enters the year healthy and hungry for a major resurgence. What sets him apart? The Cowboys’ offense is completely transformed. For the first time in years, Prescott has a deep, dynamic group of pass-catchers built for a high-volume aerial attack. CeeDee Lamb remains one of the NFL’s best all-around receivers, finishing top 7 in fantasy points per game the last three seasons. George Pickens, despite three inconsistent years in Pittsburgh, showed upside with 16.3 yards per reception. Now paired with Prescott, Pickens has serious touchdown upside as the Cowboys’ vertical threat. Jalen Tolbert has flashed as a reliable WR3, and Jake Ferguson quietly emerges as a top-tier tight end. Together, they form Prescott’s strongest supporting cast since his 37-touchdown season in 2021.
One of the biggest fantasy comebacks to watch in 2025 is Dak Prescott with this offense shifting aggressively to a pass-first identity out of necessity. With often-injured running backs Javonte Williams and Miles Sanders and rookie Jaydon Blue (5th round pick) handling the backfield, Prescott will run the show on early downs and in the red zone. He thrives when given volume, and 2025 promises just that. Elite receivers, a thin backfield, and a system built around his arm make Prescott a top-10 fantasy QB again. If you’re drafting a late-round quarterback, Prescott should be your top target. The Cowboys’ new-look offense is ready to unleash him, and fantasy owners will reap the rewards.
Offensive Shakeup =Big Things for Dak
The arrival of a new coaching staff in Dallas, led by Brian Schottenheimer, signals a major offensive shift. Key hires like Matt Eberflus as Defensive Coordinator and Klayton Adams as Offensive Coordinator complete the fresh start. Gone are the conservative, run-heavy game plans. This regime is built around Dak Prescott’s arm. Expect faster tempo, aggressive decisions, and a commitment to airing it out across the field. With a diverse group of pass catchers who excel in tight spaces, Dak can capitalize better than he has in years.
Prescott has thrown 30+ touchdowns in two of his last three full seasons. This modern scheme and red zone focus set him up to throw 35+ touchdowns in 2025. Yet, he’s still drafted in the QB18–20 range, a massive discount for a top-eight fantasy QB. If you want a late-round quarterback who can win you weeks, Prescott fits the classic comeback mold. He’s healthy, motivated, and ready to remind everyone just how dangerous he can be.
Trevor Lawrence Has the Weapons to be a Huge Fantasy Comeback
As one of my Biggest Fantasy Comebacks, Trevor Lawrence enters 2025 with the best skill player arsenal of his NFL career, and it’s not close. At wide receiver, the Jaguars boast two electric talents: Brian Thomas Jr. and Travis Hunter, a one-two punch that could unlock Lawrence’s ceiling. Thomas Jr. erupted as a rookie with 1,250 yards and 14 touchdowns, proving his dominance. Meanwhile, Hunter, the highest wide receiver drafted in 2025, arrives after a monster college season with 1,100 yards and 12 touchdowns. His elite route running and explosiveness after the catch give Lawrence a true game-breaker. Adding to the mix is tight end Brenton Strange, whose size and red-zone prowess give Lawrence a reliable target in crucial situations.
That firepower continues in the backfield. Travis Etienne, Lawrence’s former college teammate and first-round pick, has two seasons with 1,400+ scrimmage yards. He’s a proven dual-threat who eases pressure on the passing game. Behind him, Tank Bigsby showed growth last season, and the Jaguars added rookie Bhayshul Tuten, one of the most athletic backs in 2025. This group gives Jacksonville flexibility to attack from every angle. With this balanced cast, Lawrence can surpass his 2023 totals of 4,113 yards and 21 touchdowns.
Revamped Coaching and Protection
Jacksonville’s new Head Coach, Liam Coen, is a game-changer. Coen brings a fast-paced, play-action-heavy offense designed for quarterbacks with quick releases and mobility. His system emphasizes timing routes, quick reads, and aggressive downfield shots. Coen’s scheme creates mismatches by spreading defenders thin and forcing them to cover versatile receivers like Thomas Jr. and Hunter in space. He tailors the offense to Lawrence’s strengths, giving him freedom to improvise and make smart decisions on the move. This modern, quarterback-friendly scheme fixes many issues from past years, putting Lawrence in position to succeed.
Up front, Jacksonville revamped the offensive line, adding six new players via free agency and draft. Key additions include starting center Robert Hainsey and versatile right guard Patrick Mekari, plus depth from Chuma Edoga, Fred Johnson, and rookies Wyatt Milum and Jonah Monheim. Mekari’s adaptability brings stability. the line should give Lawrence clean pockets to progress through reads and take deep shots. With better protection and smarter design, Lawrence is set for the breakout we’ve awaited. Don’t let his QB19 draft price fool you, he has clear top-12 upside.
Chris Olave Is Poised for a Comeback
Chris Olave is set up for a major fantasy rebound in 2025, and it starts at the top with Kellen Moore now running the show. Moore brings an elite offensive pedigree to New Orleans, known for maximizing receiver production across multiple teams. With Kellen Moore calling plays, expect a pass-first offense built on timing, spacing, and getting the ball to top playmakers. Moore has a history of feeding his WR1s: CeeDee Lamb saw 156 targets in 2022, Amari Cooper averaged 119 per season from 2019–2021, and Keenan Allen was on pace for 184 in 2023 before injury. Olave is next. If healthy, 140 targets and 1,200+ yards are well within reach, giving him top-15 WR upside at a WR3 price.. Olave is exactly the kind of player Moore builds his passing game around. With Moore at the helm, expect Olave to command a massive target share and return to the WR1 conversation.
That offensive design becomes even more important when you factor in the uncertainty at quarterback. With rookie Tyler Shough likely leading the offense, Moore and the Saints will need to lean on their most dependable weapon, Chris Olave. New Orleans passed on adding significant competition at wide receiver and instead used premium draft capital to support their rookie quarterback, indicating confidence in Olave’s ability to carry the passing game. Olave is shaping up as one of the biggest fantasy comebacks of 2025, primed to bounce back as the focal point in a high-volume offense.
Proven Talent, Ready for WR1
Chris Olave’s skill set remains elite, and 2025 could be the year everything clicks. A precise route runner, he consistently creates separation, ranking among league leaders with 2.8 yards of average target separation in 2023 (NFL Next Gen Stats). He checks every box of a true WR1 and now enters a system designed to maximize his strengths.
Now entering his fourth season, Olave is clearly the alpha in New Orleans. Target competition is minimal: Cedrick Wilson, Dante Pettis, and Brandin Cooks are depth players on short-term deals. Rashid Shaheed, though clearly talented and more than just a deep threat, profiles as a complementary weapon. Shaheed remains a valuable vertical and gadget threat, but the offense still runs through Olave. With an aging Alvin Kamara and not much depth behind him, the Saints will lean heavily on the passing game. Especially with rookie Tyler Shough likely starting, the offense needs a go-to weapon. Olave is set up for a WR1 rebound, ready to dominate targets and deliver elite fantasy production as one of my biggest fantasy comebacks.
