Let’s take a look at who to target on your Week 16 Waiver Wire. In general, these players will be injury replacements or those who I think have a chance to break out.  Remember, it’s unlikely that someone here will be the next fantasy great, but you should find some low-end RB2s, WR3s, and bye week starters with upside potential. Most players listed will be less than 50% owned, according to FantasyPros’ consensus roster percentage.

Week 16 Waiver Wire- Quarterback Targets

Jacoby Brissett, Cardinals (35.4% Rostered) | 4%-6% FAAB

Since taking over as the starter, Jacoby Brissett is the QB3 in points per game and should be rostered in all leagues.  He is a viable starter every week and should have been rostered in all leagues weeks ago.  With Atlanta this week and Cincinnati next, he could easily help you win your league.

J.J. McCarthy, Vikings (30% Rostered) | 4%-6% FAAB

Here is another quarterback who could help you win it all. J.J. McCarthy is coming off top-10 weeks against Washington and Dallas. Next, he gets the Giants and Lions.  Both have been great matchups for quarterbacks this year, especially the last few weeks.

Others to consider:

Trevor Lawrence, Jaguars (54.6% rostered) – Tough matchup this week, but he has been good.

Tyler Shough, Saints (11.1% rostered) – A top 15 quarterback since he took over, and has favorable matchups to finish the season.

Gardner Minshew, Chiefs (0.6% rostered) – Patrick Mahomes is out for the season, and he has a good matchup this week against Tennessee.

Week 16 Waiver Wire- Running Backs

Jawhar Jordan, Texans (1.0% Rostered) | 7%-11% FAAB

Raise your hand if you had Jawhar Jordan getting 100 yards in his NFL debut?  He is still behind both Woody Marks and Nick Chubb in the pecking order, but both are dealing with injuries.  It’s likely that both play this week, so Jordan may just be a handcuff. However, if one misses the game, Jawhar Jordan could be an RB3/flex play if you need it against the Raiders.

Blake Corum, Rams (42.7% Rostered) | 10%-15% FAAB

I wrote about Blake Corum a couple of weeks ago, and nothing has changed. He had played around one-third of the snaps, but last week he was up to 46 percent.  Kyren Williams is banged up, and Corum has been getting more carries. So many, in fact, that he has been the RB9 over the last 3 weeks, averaging 17.8 PPR points per game (Williams is at 17.6).   This week, the Rams face Seattle, which has one of the best run defenses, but with TD-machine Devante Adams likely out, Corum could get plenty of goalline looks.  Pencil him in as an RB3/flex if you need it.

Others to consider:

Michael Carter, Cardinals (7.8% rostered) – He is one of the only healthy backs in Arizona.

LeQuint Allen, Jr. – Jaguars (0.6% rostered) – Handcuff for Travis Etienne, with Bhayshul Tuten out.

Week 16 Waiver Wire- Wide Receivers

Jalen Coker, Panthers (5.9% rostered) | 3%-6% FAAB

In his last two games, Jalen Coker has been a top-24 PPR receiver.  He has had 4 catches each game, at least 60 yards, and a touchdown.  While another touchdown is not guaranteed, the targets and receptions should be, giving him plenty of opportunity to be a WR3/flex this week against Tampa Bay.

Jayden Reed, Packers (44.3% rostered) | 3%-6% FAAB

In each of his two games since returning from that Week 2 injury, Jayden Reed has gotten at least 4 targets and has gone from playing 47 percent of snaps to 65 percent. Now Christian Watson is injured, and Matthew Golden has pretty much been a non-factor, so expect more playing time, targets, and maybe even a touchdown this week in a pivotal game against the Bears.

Others to consider:

Jalen Nailor (2.6% rostered) – Decent stash with good playoff matchups, assuming J.J. McCarthy keeps targeting him.

Luther Burden, III, Bears (21.8% rostered) – I wrote about him last week, and he is still under-rostered.

Week 16 Waiver Wire- Tight Ends

Colby Parkinson, Rams (0.6% rostered) | 3%-5% FAAB

I first wrote about Colby Parkinson heading into Week 13 when Tyler Higbee went on IR.  At that time, he was the TE7 over the last three weeks.  Here it is, three weeks later: He is still the TE7, he is coming off a two-touchdown game, Davante Adams is out, and they face Seattle, which has been great for opposing tight ends.  Get him in your lineups unless you have Trey McBride, George Kittle, Kyle Pitts (unless Drake London plays), or Brock Bowers. I can easily see Parkinson being a top 5 tight end this week.

Darren Waller, Dolphins (31.3% rostered) | 1%-2% FAAB

Are you weak at tight end and a long shot to win?  Then, Darren Waller is who you need to start.  He is a very boom or bust player.  In seven games, he has been top 6 3 times and outside the top 20 the rest of the time.  Fortunately, he has Cincinnati this week, which has been horrible against tight ends.

Others to consider:

Colston Loveland, Bears (44.0% rostered) – He is getting more involved every week.

Brenton Strange, Jaguars (43.3% rostered) – He continues to get a lot of targets.
