Welcome to the Week 6 Dynasty Risers & Fallers. I highlight which players have had a huge rise or fall in their fantasy value this week.
Fantasy Football Risers & Fallers is one of the biggest topics in dynasty every season. It’s quick & easy to understand, translates to several different league formats beyond dynasty, and, most of all, it’s SEO-friendly. This season, Fantasy Sports Advice Network has allowed me to cover the biggest movers of our beloved fantasy football space each week! So without further ado, why don’t we talk about the players that made a splash (both good and bad) in Week 6 of the 2025 NFL Season!
Week 6 Dynasty Risers
Javonte Williams, RB (Dallas Cowboys)
Javonte Williams has emerged as a major Fantasy Football riser through the first five weeks of the 2025 season. After a dominant Week 5 performance against the Jets — where he piled up 135 rushing yards and two total touchdowns on just 16 carries — Williams finished as the Standard RB3 with 25.9 points. He now ranks as the RB4 in points per game (20.7), Standard RB2 overall, and PPR RB3. Williams has racked up 447 rushing yards (3rd in the NFL) and six total touchdowns (2nd), showing elite production on a one-year, $3 million deal with Dallas — arguably the best value signing of the offseason. No other Cowboy has more than 20 carries, while Williams already has 79, cementing him as the clear bell cow in a high-usage role.
Even more encouraging is that Williams is not just putting up numbers — he’s passing the eye test with ease. After battling injuries since 2022, he’s finally healthy and looks as explosive as ever, ranking in the Top 10 in nearly every advanced metric that matters: snap share, points per opportunity, carries, red zone touches, receptions, yards per touch, evaded tackles, breakaway runs, and yards created. That combination of volume, efficiency, and red zone involvement makes him one of the safest and most dynamic backs in fantasy. If he continues on this trajectory, Williams could finish as a league-winner for managers who took a chance on him at a mid-round ADP.
Emeka Egbuka, WR (Tampa Bay Buccaneers)
Rookie wideout Emeka Egbuka is quickly making his mark as a Fantasy Football breakout, delivering a monster Week 5 performance with 7 catches for 163 yards and a touchdown on 7 targets against the Seahawks — finishing as the WR1 in both standard and PPR formats. Through five weeks, Egbuka ranks as the WR2 in Standard and WR3 in PPR, while averaging an elite 20.5 points per game (WR3 in PPG). With veterans Mike Evans and Chris Godwin struggling to stay healthy, Egbuka has seized the opportunity and emerged as the clear top option in the Buccaneers’ passing attack.
Beyond the box score, Egbuka’s advanced metrics reveal just how impactful he’s been. He’s Top 10 in Routes Run, Air Yards, Receiving Yards, Yards After Catch, Touchdowns, Yards per Reception, Target Premium, EPA, and Points per Target — all while leading the Buccaneers in targets, receptions, and receiving yards as a rookie. Tampa Bay appears to have absolutely nailed their first-round pick, landing a future star who’s already producing like a seasoned WR1. If he keeps this pace, Egbuka is not only a must-start every week — he could be a league-winner.
Theo Johnson, TE (New York Giants)
Theo Johnson is quickly emerging as a fantasy sleeper at the tight end position, finishing Week 5 as the TE3 in both standard and PPR formats. He hauled in 6 of 7 targets for 33 yards and two touchdowns, building on the chemistry he’s developed with rookie QB Jaxson Dart, who has now thrown a touchdown to Johnson in both of his first two career starts. With star receiver Malik Nabers sidelined, Johnson has stepped up as the top target in the offense — and there’s little reason to believe that will change if he keeps producing in high-leverage situations.
A second-year tight end with elite athleticism — boasting 90th percentile speed at 6’6″, 259 pounds — Johnson is starting to turn opportunity into real fantasy value. He currently ranks Top 5 among tight ends in slot snaps, red zone targets, designed targets, and touchdowns, all of which are critical indicators for sustained fantasy success. If he maintains this role, Johnson is on track to shatter his TE28 ADP and could easily finish the season as a weekly starter and potential difference-maker at a thin position.
Week 6 Dynasty Risers- Honorable Mentions
Dillon Gabriel, QB (Cleveland Browns)
Rico Dowdle, RB (Carolina Panthers)
Jacory Croskey-Merritt, RB (Washington Commanders)
Ryan Flournoy, WR (Dallas Cowboys)
Week 6 Dynasty Fallers
Chuba Hubbard, RB (Carolina Panthers)
Chuba Hubbard was quietly putting together a solid start to the season, ranking as the RB15 in PPR through the first four weeks. However, a missed Week 5 due to injury may have significantly altered his fantasy trajectory. In his absence, backup Rico Dowdle exploded for 206 rushing yards and a touchdown on 23 carries against the Dolphins, finishing as the RB1 in both Standard and PPR formats. Dowdle’s breakout performance not only turned heads but vaulted him into the Top 10 among running backs in yards per carry, breakaway runs, and EPA — making it nearly impossible for the coaching staff to ignore moving forward.
While Hubbard is still expected to have a role upon returning, especially as a pass-catching option, his grip on the lead-back duties has clearly loosened. Fantasy managers should expect a much more evenly split backfield going forward, with Dowdle likely to see early-down and goal-line work, while Hubbard shifts into more of a change-of-pace and receiving role. For a player who looked like a potential RB2 just a week ago, Hubbard’s fantasy value is now trending downward, and he could be relegated to flex consideration or even bench depth if Dowdle continues to impress.
Chris Godwin, WR (Tampa Bay Buccaneers)
Chris Godwin’s fantasy stock continues to decline, and it’s becoming harder to ignore the signs. Since 2023, he hasn’t looked like the same player — a string of injuries has robbed him of the explosiveness and consistency that once made him a reliable high-end WR2. After missing the first three weeks of the 2025 season with a dislocated ankle, Godwin has returned to an 80% snap share but hasn’t produced, managing just 6 receptions for 52 yards on 14 targets across two games. Averaging only 3 catches for 26 yards in each outing and sitting at WR82 in points per game, he’s no longer a trustworthy fantasy starter.
Now, with Godwin missing practice heading into Week 6 due to a fibula issue, his outlook grows even more uncertain. Meanwhile, rookie Emeka Egbuka has emerged as the clear leader in Tampa Bay’s receiving corps, and with Mike Evans expected to return soon from a hamstring injury, Godwin could slide even further down the target pecking order. At nearly 30 years old and struggling to stay on the field or make an impact when he’s on it, Godwin’s days as a dependable fantasy option may be behind him. Unless something changes dramatically, he’s trending toward droppable in shallower formats.
Alvin Kamara, RB (New Orleans Saints)
One of the more surprising fantasy disappointments through five weeks has been Alvin Kamara. Despite entering the season with hopes of a bounce-back year, he currently sits as the PPR RB24 — a steep drop-off from the elite production fantasy managers were once accustomed to. The volume is still there — Kamara ranks 12th in carries and 9th in receptions among running backs — but the efficiency has fallen off a cliff. He has just one touchdown on the year and is outside the Top 32 RBs in nearly every key metric: Points per Opportunity, Yards per Touch, Yards per Reception, Yards per Carry, Production Premium, and EPA.
What’s more concerning is the growing threat to his already dwindling fantasy value. Kendre Miller has been steadily carving out a larger role and currently ranks 16th in yards per touch, while Taysom Hill just returned and logged six carries in Week 5 — a number likely to increase as he gets healthier, further eating into Kamara’s red zone and touchdown opportunities. Unless something drastically changes, Kamara may no longer be a weekly starter. His best hope for fantasy relevance may come via a trade to a more functional offense, because right now, it’s hard to trust him as anything more than a low-end RB2 or flex.
