Let’s take a look at who to target on your Week 7 Waiver Wire. In general, these players will be injury replacements or those who I think have a chance to break out.  Remember, it’s unlikely that someone here will be the next fantasy great, but you should find some low-end RB2s, WR3s, and bye week starters with upside potential. Most players listed will be less than 50 percent owned according to FantasyPros Consensus Roster Percentage.

Week 7 Waiver Wire- Quarterbacks Targets

Dillon Gabriel, Browns (6.1% Rostered) | 1%-3% FAAB

Last week, I recommended Bryce Young as a spot starter against the invisible Cowboys’ defense, and he finished as QB12.  This week, go for Dillon Gabriel. He faces Miami, which has allowed 23 points per game to quarterbacks, ranking second in the league.  Gabriel is only making his third start, so there is not a lot of tape on him, and it is his first home start.  Expect him and the Browns to be fired up in front of the hometown crowd.  I will have him ranked in my top 15 quarterbacks this week.

Daniel Jones, Colts (56.8% Rostered) | 7%-10% FAAB

Raise your hand if you had Daniel Jones as the QB9 through six weeks.  I certainly did not, but remember, his last full season, he was the QB10. With Anthony Richardson going on IR, he won’t lose his job anytime soon (not that he deserves to so far), so expect him to have QB1 upside week-to-week.

Week 7 Waiver Wire- Running Backs

Kimani Vidal, Chargers (33.4% Rostered) | 15%-20% FAAB

18 carries, 124 yards and a TD!?! Sign me up.  The only problem is that he was facing the Miami defense, which has given up the fourth-most points to running backs.  Temper your expectations this week against a stout Colts’ defense, but he should be rostered and should finish as at least an RB2, with RB1 upside.

Rico Dowdle, Panthers (62.6% Rostered) | 50%-75% FAAB

Two weeks as the starter and two weeks as the starter, and two weeks as the RB1.  I don’t expect this to continue against a decent Jets’ run defense, but Rico Dowdle still should be in the RB12-15 range. After Week 7, he faces the Bills’ (6th-worst run defense).  Get him if you can.  Even when Chuba Hubbard comes back, he has earned at least an even timeshare.

Week 7 Waiver Wire- Wide Receivers

Tutu Atwell, Rams (1.6% rostered) | 1%-3% FAAB &

Jordan Whittington, Rams (1.1% rostered) | 1%-3% FAAB

It looks like Rams #1 receiver, Puka Nacua, may miss a few weeks. In Week 7, the Rams play the Jaguars, who have given up the seventh-most points to receivers.  Either Tutu Atwell or Jordan Whittington needs to step up with Davonte Adams.  I think both have WR2 upside and can be started as a flex or WR4-5.  I like Whittington a little better than Atwell.  Whittington has played more snaps and gotten more targets; however, Atwell gets a lot more deep targets.  For floor, consider Whittington, but if you need a homerun, Atwell is the guy.

Sterling Shepard, Buccaneers (7.2% rostered) | 1%-3% FAAB &

Tez Johnson, Buccaneers (1.6% rostered) | 3%-5% FAAB &

Kameron Johnson, Buccaneers (0% rostered) | 1%-3% FAAB

Emeka Egbuka is out for a while, Chris Godwin has already been ruled out for this week, and Mike Evans is still recovering from a hamstring injury.  Someone has to catch passes from MVP-candidate Baker Mayfield. Someone other than Cade Otton (see below) will have to step up. I think it will be Tez Johnson.  He has played at least 29% of the snaps since Week 3, when both Evans and Egbuka were healthy, and he was up to 72% last week.  Sterling Shepard probably has the higher floor, but his upside is not there.  Kameron Johnson never played more than 11 percent of the snaps before the Egbuka injury.  His four targets in Week 5 were his first targets since Week 4 of 2024. This week, Tampa Bay plays the Lions, who give up the fourth-most points to opposing receivers, so look at all three of these as at least a WR3/flex player, and there is a lot of upside.

Week 7 Waiver Wire- Tight Ends

Noah Fant, Bengals (2.6% rostered) | 3%-7% FAAB

Mike Gesicki is out with a pectoral injury for a while, and now the Bengals have Joe Flacco at quarterback.  Flacco loves his tight ends. Todd Heap, Ed Dickson, Dennis Pitta, David Njoku…all of these have been top tight ends in seasons when he led their teams. Noah Fant is a great fill-in for Mark Andrews or Dalton Kincaid. He has had top 12 seasons before, so he even has weekly starter potential.

Cade Otton, Buccaneers (13.6% rostered) | 3%-7% FAAB

Like I said earlier, Baker Mayfield has to throw to someone.  Last season’s TE14 is a good choice. Expect Cade Otton to get plenty of targets until the Buccaneers’ top 3 receivers come back. I would not drop someone like Theo Johnson or Mason Taylor for him, but certainly Juwan Johnson, Evan Engram, or Dalton Schultz can be let go to pick up this potential target-machine.
