Fantasy Baseball Overreactions: The Year of the Comeback

Are you ready to dominate your 2027 fantasy baseball league? Doug and Mikey V are back with Part 3 of our Over and Under Reactions series to help you separate the true stars from the draft-day busts. We are diving deep into the data to ensure your roster is built for a championship run.

In this episode of Bourbon and Ball, we break down the most controversial takes heading into the 2027 season. We start on the mound, analyzing the comeback potential of Spencer Strider, Spencer Schwellenbach, and Cole Ragans after their injury-plagued seasons. We also debate whether young phenoms like Jackson Jobe and Bubba Chandler can actually crack the top 25 rankings or if the mid-market team struggles will hold them back.

The conversation shifts to the plate as we question the long-term fantasy value of Austin Riley and Jazz Chisholm. Is Riley still a top 10 third baseman, or are the strikeouts becoming a fatal flaw for your points league? We also highlight potential league-winners like Jac Caglione and Jackson Merrill, while discussing why Steven Kwan remains one of the safest picks in the game. Finally, we wrap up with a massive rumor segment regarding a potential blockbuster trade sending Elly De La Cruz to the Boston Red Sox in exchange for top prospects.
