Fantasy Baseball: The Biggest Early Round Busts of 2026

Last week we covered the best, but today we are diving into the biggest disappointments of the 2026 season. From first-round busts to high-investment pitchers who let your team down, Doug and Mikey V break down who failed to live up to the hype and what it means for your 2027 draft strategy. Whether it was the injury bug or just a massive dip in production, we are looking at the players who likely cost you your fantasy league this year.

In this episode of Bourbon and Ball, we analyze why superstars like Aaron Judge and Vlad Guerrero Jr. fell off the map and discuss if their names are still enough to carry them in the early rounds next year. We also look at the transition struggles of Kyle Tucker in Los Angeles and the high-strikeout nightmare that was Cal Raleigh’s season in Seattle. It is not just about the hitters, though, as we transition into the pitching side to look at the struggles of Paul Skenes and the total collapse of Framber Valdez in Detroit.

We also dive into the potential for these players to bounce back. While their 2026 stats were ugly, many of these guys are now prime candidates for value picks in 2027. We discuss which players are on our permanent do not draft list and which ones we are willing to take a chance on if they slide far enough in the draft.
